The result revealed that 88 and 96% of the farmers in the area were aware of herbicides and fertilizer respectively. Majority (74%) of the farmers obtained much of their information from extension agents. It was however stated that project scarcity (46%) and high cost of fertilizers (30%) were the major limitation to the usage of fertilizers while the major limitations to the usage of herbicides were the high cost (30%), lack of capital (30%) and technical knowhow (19%).
