This study presents a discussion for fusing polymers as cells of the diesel particulate filter i.e., as a porous media. The transmission losses of sound waves and noise reduction will be calculated for different values of frequency and a comparison between ceramics and polymer filters is demonstrated. It is found that polymers cells improving transmission losses and noise reduction factor of the DPF.
