Abstract:
The real challenges in the field of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) are to control the trade-off between providing security and conserving scarce resources. To provide security besides cryptographic primitives, secret key also play a vital role. The reason for key management is to set up and to provide secure channels among sensor nodes in WSN applications. Various key management schemes are proposed for WSN. Deploying sophisticated network based Key Management protocol in WSN is critical and important task. From the literature survey, it is understand that more energy is consumed to establish wireless sensor network in any real time applications. In this paper, various key issues in key management schemes are discussed based on the evaluation metrics such as energy responsiveness, key connectivity, resilience, scalability and efficiency.
