An investigation was carried on the flow efficiency of Davison (Fletcher and Powell, 1963) procedure for minimization. Given some functions, the program implementing the procedure was found either prone to over flow problem or flowing for a while. With aim of overcoming these challenges, this study proposed a modification of some aspects of the procedure. New subroutines were introduced to perfect the original procedure. On implementing the new procedure, the program implementing it exhibited better quality of flow and further computational properties of the original procedure. |
