Abstract:

This study explained the use of measures of association that could be use for research in educational
planning and administration. As a theoretical study, it provides an insight to the particular measure of
association that is appropriate to solve a particular research problem. Since every research problem requires
a particular measure of association, this study explores the particular technique that would suit the research.
In solving a research problem, the study made use of different examples which a researcher could assimilate
in order to embark on a particular study. The author also gave the assumptions for using each of the measures
of association in educational and scientific research highlighting the advantages and disadvantages of each
measure. It was concluded that the use of appropriate measure of association is a fundamental requirement for
research in educational planning and administration.
