Abstract

The New Multimodal Varational Formulation (NMVF) was since successfully used to characterize the uniaxial discontinuities in the homogeneous rectangular waveguides, in the ridged rectangular waveguides and in the rectangular E-plane dielectric filled waveguides. In this study, we apply this method to characterize the uniaxial discontinuities between the homogeneous cylindrical waveguides. The behavior of two filter structures is highlighted. A good agreement is observed between the achieved results and those given in the literature.
