This study sheds light on the materials (elastomers) which are used for buffer equipment production.
One of the unsolved problems concerning shock absorption is the problem of optimal material choice for the
shock absorber. It is the main problem examined in this study. We conclude that the material should be chosen
in accordance with such characteristics as energy intensity rate, internal friction and rheological characteristic.
