Abstract
Based on the fractal theory, this study presents a numerical analysis on the fractal characteristics of cracks and pore structure of concrete with the help of digital image technology. The results show that concrete cracks and the micro pore distribution of concrete are of fractal characteristics and the fractal dimension ranges from 1 to 2. The fractal characteristics of pores in cracked concrete and un-cracked concrete is similar and the former fractal dimension of the micro pore structure is bigger than the later.
